We have the knowledge and experience in full building security to secure any customer facility. As a Security Integrator, we offer a wide variety of services, which include Security Guard & Patrol Services, Video Surveillance, Access Control, and Intrusion Alarm Systems.

OUR HISTORY
Dan and Sondra Dutro started Aegis Protective Services in March of 1993. Prior to starting Aegis, Dan was a property manager for several class-A office buildings in downtown Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio. His frustration in dealing with security guard companies and their lack of customer service, communication and follow through was the inspiration for the company.
It was a true family business with everyone in the family including Dan, Sondra, their three children and even cousins, pitching in to keep things going. The company was very fortunate to have earned the business of Ethicon Endo-Surgery in Blue Ash, Ohio; a major account that put them in overdrive. Over the next several years, Aegis gained several new, large customers and moved into their first office in St. Bernard. Shortly after that, they moved to another location on Reading Road.
Their son Justin, with a degree in Chemical Engineering, came onboard in 2003 to start the Technology Division. He made their first sale, an access control installation at the Kellogg’s plant in Cincinnati. As the company was growing, it was decided to purchase a new headquarters building at 3033 Robertson Avenue in Cincinnati in 2006.
In January 2008, Justin and his wife, Ellie, bought the business from Justin’s parents. Under Justin’s leadership the company began to grow quickly, earning business from some of the national competitors simply by doing what his father started – build strong relationships, do what you say you will do, and be responsive to your clients’ needs.
Aegis opened the first branch office in Columbus, Ohio in 2014 and now serves clients in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, and Florida.
As the company celebrated its 30th anniversary, Justin reflected on his father Dan’s, strong foundation, “Dad’s upfront and honest approach, along with his dedication to clients solidified our values and focus on providing excellent customer experience.” His philosophy? “It’s easier to keep a client than get a new one,” which remains the motto for everyone in the company, all in to exceed client expectations.
